Status of segments and filtering

Every segment has a status associated with it. The status of a segment essentially contains two pieces of information in it by answering the following questions:

  1. How was the segment translated?
  2. Are the post-editing changes saved or not?

Translation for a segment in the Transeditor can be obtained in any of the following three ways:

  1. From translation memories (TM)
  2. Machine translation (MT)
  3. Manual translation

Based on these three modes of translation, there are 6 possible segment statuses:

  1. TM Unconfirmed
  2. TM Confirmed
  3. MT Unconfirmed
  4. MT Confirmed
  5. Manual Unconfirmed
  6. Manual Confirmed

There are two additional segment statuses:

  1. Unopened – When the target segment is not yet clicked and opened for post-editing.
  1. Copied from the source – When source content is copied to the target segment without translation, using the Copy source to target without translation feature.

How to filter segments based on segment status?

Segment statuses are especially helpful when working with files having a large number of segments.

To filter segments in a file based on the status:

  1. Click the Filter dropdown in the top right corner of the Ailaysa Transeditor toolbar.
  2. Check the segment statuses to filter.
